Piano Repair FAQs

Is my piano worth repairing?

Often yes, but not always. We evaluate the pinblock, soundboard, bridges, strings, action condition and case, then give you a straight answer. If the cost of restoring an instrument exceeds its musical and sentimental value, we will tell you that plainly rather than sell you unnecessary work.

How much does piano repair cost in Surprise?

Pricing depends entirely on scope. Routine service visits fall at the lower end, while projects involving new parts, workshop time or structural work are quoted individually. Ulricquero Co. provides a written, itemized estimate before any work begins, and we never exceed an approved estimate without discussing it with you first. Call (623) 975-3718 for a free estimate.

Do you offer maintenance plans?

We do. Scheduled maintenance programs cover tuning at appropriate intervals, annual inspection, minor regulation and humidity system service. Institutional clients such as schools and churches in Surprise typically see the greatest savings from a structured plan.

Do you come to my home in Surprise?

Yes. The majority of our work is performed on site throughout Surprise and the surrounding communities, including Surprise, Peoria, Glendale, Sun City and Phoenix. Only projects requiring workshop equipment need the instrument transported, and we arrange insured piano-specific moving when that is necessary.

How does Arizona's dry climate affect my piano?

Significantly. Sustained low humidity shrinks wood components, loosens tuning pins, dries glue joints and flattens soundboard crown. We recommend keeping indoor relative humidity between forty and forty-five percent, and we can install and service climate control systems designed specifically for pianos.

Can you help before a performance or recording session?

Yes. We offer priority scheduling for concerts, recitals, worship services and studio sessions. Contact us as early as possible at (623) 975-3718 so we can build in time for tuning, touch-up regulation and voicing ahead of your date.

How long does the work take?

Most in-home service in Surprise is completed in a single visit of ninety minutes to four hours. Larger projects such as restringing, action rebuilding or refinishing move to our workshop and typically run from two weeks to several months depending on the extent of the work and parts availability.

Do you work on all brands?

Yes. Our technicians service Steinway, Yamaha, Kawai, Baldwin, Mason & Hamlin, Bösendorfer, Schimmel, Story & Clark, Wurlitzer, Everett, Chickering, Knabe and virtually every other American, European and Asian manufacturer, including discontinued brands and nineteenth-century instruments.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Ulricquero Co. provides free estimates for piano repair, tuning, regulation and restoration work throughout Surprise and the West Valley. Call (623) 975-3718 or submit the request form on any page.

How far do you travel?

We routinely serve Surprise, Peoria, Sun City, Sun City West, Glendale, Phoenix, El Mirage, Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye and roughly twenty additional Maricopa County communities. See our Areas Served page for the full list.

Can you move my piano?

We coordinate insured, piano-specific moving for workshop projects. We do not recommend general household movers for any acoustic piano.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, checks and electronic transfer. Larger restoration projects are typically billed in scheduled stages tied to project milestones.
